We can't begin to imagine how that's pronounced, but literally translated we believe it means, "A visit with less worth to you than even one cold french fry." If Newport et al. are right, the case of Simon does not seem to give much support to the nativist hypothesis. In addition, many English words have the same letter combination but are not pronounced the same. If so, it would be a mistake for the child to conclude on the basis of this information that the latter string is ungrammatical.
